Applications & Uses

Absorption & Humidity Control
An efficient water vapor absorbent and air humidity regulator. Lithium bromide with a concentration of 54% to 55% can be used as an absorption refrigerant.
Organic Chemistry
Used as a hydrogen chloride remover and a leavening agent for organic fibers (such as wool, hair, etc.).
Medical Applications
Medically used as a hypnotic and sedative.
Other Industrial Uses
Used in the photosensitive industry, analytical chemistry, and electrolytes and chemical reagents in high-energy batteries.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Appearance: White cubic crystal or granular powder.

Solubility: Easily soluble in water, the solubility is 254g/100ml water (90℃); Soluble in ethanol and ether; slightly soluble in pyridine; Soluble in methanol, acetone, ethylene glycol and other organic solvents.

Quality Assurance & Deviation Handling

QA is responsible to evaluate and categorize the deviation into Major level, General level and Minor level. For all levels of deviations, the investigation to identify the root cause or potential cause is necessary. Investigation needs to be completed within 7 working days. The product impact assessment along with CAPA plan are also required after the investigation complete and root cause identified. The deviation is closed when the CAPA is implemented. All Level deviation should be approved by QA Manager. After implemented, effectiveness of CAPA is confirmed based on plan.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What are the main applications of Lithium Bromide?
Lithium Bromide is widely used as an efficient water vapor absorbent and air humidity regulator. Concentrations of 54% to 55% serve as absorption refrigerants. It is also used in organic chemistry, medicine (as a hypnotic and sedative), photosensitive industry, analytical chemistry, and high-energy battery electrolytes.
Q2: What is the solubility of Lithium Bromide?
It is easily soluble in water (61 g/100 mL at 25°C, and 254 g/100 ml at 90℃). It is also soluble in ethanol, ether, methanol, acetone, and ethylene glycol, but only slightly soluble in pyridine.
Q3: How should Lithium Bromide be stored?
Because Lithium Bromide is hygroscopic (sensitive to moisture), it must be stored under an inert atmosphere at room temperature.
Q4: What packaging options are available for this product?
The product is typically packaged in 1 kg packages or 25 kg/drum.
Q5: How are quality deviations handled during manufacturing?
QA categorizes deviations into Major, General, or Minor levels. Root cause investigations are completed within 7 working days. A CAPA plan and product impact assessment are submitted for QA Manager approval, and the deviation is closed once CAPA effectiveness is verified.
